DAY 1
MARATHON (490 a.C.)

against the persians
From Athens we go through the ~42 km historical to the coastal plain where athenians and plateos stopped the first Persian invasion of Darius I.
Visit the Tumulus of the Athenians, the Archaeological museum of Marathon and the tomb of the plateos, the replica of the Trophy of Marathon and the bay of the landing Persian.
Extension to the picturesque Temple of Artemis in Braurón and/or the Cape Sounion to see the sunset at the Temple of Poseidon.
DAY 2
THERMOPYLAE (480 a.C.)

We follow the route you took Leonidas and his 300 hoplitas towards the narrow pass of Thermopylae to stop the massive army of Xerxes.
Monument to Leonidas and Tespios, the Wall Focidio (where you fought the fierce fighting body to body) and the Hill of Kolonosthe scene of the tragic and heroic last resistance spartan.
Combination with the Sanctuary of Delphithe field of battle Audience or the historic town of Thebes.
DAY 3
SALAMIS (480 a.C.)
The trap naval Themistocles
We crossed by ferry to the island of Salamis as did the families of athens and the Greek fleet to the advancing Persian.
Navigation on the same waters that had witnessed the largest naval battle of the Ancient times. Visit the Old port of Salamis and their memorials. To return to the continent, we will ascend to the Throne of Xerxes to contemplate the panoramic view exactly where the Great King observed the destruction of his fleet.

DAY 4
PLATEA (479 a.C.)
The shock definitive for the freedom of Greece
Following in the footsteps of Aristides and Pausanias together the largest army hoplita met in the story, we step into the limits of Attica and Boeotia to the great plain of Plataea.
Inspection of the archaeological remains of Audience and analysis, tactical ground on the plain where the general Persian Mardonio fell in battle, and the greeks gave the final victory of the war.
Choice between Eleusis, Delphi, Thermopylae, Thebes, Leuctra, the Valley of the Muses or Tespias.
